Unit 4 - Civil War

English 11 is almost out of our textbook! We are finishing up Unit 4, and this time period focuses on the Civil War, Naturalism, Regionalism, and Realism.

So far the students seem to like these pieces of literature more so than the poetry we just finished in Unit 3. Today we reviewed some Civil War information, the video and picture below helped keep things clear. We then began reading "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" by Ambrose Bierce. Students need to finish the story by Monday! There is a digital copy and audio link on the English 11 page.
